Importance of moisturising your skin

Updated: Nov 24, 2020

Moisturising your skin is important to help maintain and boost your skin’s natural hydro-lipid barrier. This barrier is important for keeping moisture within the skin and keeping baddies outside the skin.

Baddies can be toxins or bad bacteria that lead to acne or skin infections. We want to maintain a good amount of good bacteria within the skin which thrive in an acidic environment and maintain smooth, supple acne free skin.

Under-moisturised dry skin can actually lead to acne. This is when the skin is dehydrated not having enough water within it and the skin over produces oil to compensate. Dry skin also is a precursor to eczema and dermatitis.

Moisturising isn't just for women — it's an important habit for men to incorporate into their daily routine as well!
